A few minutes' walk to the beach, a coastal stroll to Penzance - a sunny stylish Victorian cottage with blissful views and a spa bath for 2

Read guest comments

A sunny seaside cottage filled with light and Victorian charm: perfect for honeymooners, the artistically inspired and bon-viveurs. A few minutes walk to the beach, a coastal stroll to Penzance, a short drive or cycle to St Ives and Land's End. The Grade II-listed one-storey cottage has large sash windows facing south over the sea: a stunning view. Settle by the wood-burner and watch the rising tide turn St Michael's Mount into an island. The cream-toned living room is bright with a large gilt mirror and gold cushions, a sisal rug covers original painted floorboards, flowers are fresh. Wander through to a fully-equipped fitted kitchen lined with wood panelling; dine at a small, winged wooden table. Pull back the bedroom curtains to gaze out to ever-changing nautical views from a king-sized bed; original watercolours, by the owner's Royal Academician grandfather, are a treat. There's a double-ended spa bath to bubble away the sand, tea and homemade cake on arrival provided by the lovely, semi-retired owners (she a teacher, he an engineer). The beach is close and restaurants, pubs (with gardens to lounge in) and shops are a lazy five-minute stroll.

"A delightful cottage, beautifully presented and extremely well equipped. A lovely touch to be greeted with fresh flowers and cake! From what I gather, we were lucky to have a parking space close to the cottage! Rod and Nick were very helpful when we needed it - would definitely consider staying again (even though we generally tend not to return anywhere as the world is such a huge place!). "

"A beautiful cottage which is immaculately presented. You are enveloped in muted colours from the moment you walk in. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the spa bath in the elegant bathroom is wonderful. We spent our time sitting in the window seat by the logfire, gazing out at St Michael's Mount. Fresh flowers and homemade cake was a delightful welcome. We would definitely stay here again. "

"We had an absolutely blissful break away in this gorgeous cottage with stunning sea views. Exquisitely decorated yet so homely too, perfect to relax next to the woodburner after a day of walking/swimming/exploring - the location is fantastic, in easy reach of many famous landmarks and a mere stroll away from lovely local eateries. Thank you for a holiday to remember."

"We had a very relaxing stay at the Coachman's Cottage. The property is tastefully decorated with a spacious bathroom and well equipped kitchen. The view of St Michael's Mount from the bedroom and living room is amazing. The bed is the most comfortable I have slept in (and the room quiet). Off-street parking is provided, although larger cars may have difficulty accessing the space as there is not much spare to manoeuvre. The owners very kindly provided tea, cakes and a pint of milk on arrival. There are 2 fine dining restaurants, 3 pubs with food and a fish & chip shop within a 5 minute walk."

"Coachman's Cottage is a really lovely special place to stay. Everything you need for your stay, is in the cottage. The sea is a stroll away as are the pubs and footpath walks. If you happen to pass Marazion Town hall on a Weds eve, 'Penzance Orpheus Ladies choir' practice there from 7pm and you can go in and listen to them. They are fantastic! "

"We have had an amazing stay in Coachman's cottage. It is the most idyllic, stylish and comfortable place we have ever stayed in. The owners are extemely thoughtful and the attention to detail is fantastic. We were warm and comfortable and surrounded by beauty. Our stay was magical and we can't wait to return. The position is perfect with lovely restaurants and a stunning beach. The views are possibly the best in Britain, we lay in bed looking out over St Michael's mount. This place is pure bliss. A perfect holiday is guaranteed.Thank you Coachman's."

"This cottage is not only spacious and very well equipped, but for those who appreciate a period style property you will not be disappointed. The cottage is elegant and beautifully finished but above cosy and comfortable. The log fire is a definite bonus for those chillier and blustery evenings. The location is perfect; the views over to St Michael’s Mount are breath-taking, whatever the weather, with local shops, fabulous restaurants, pubs and delis only a short stroll away. This is a perfect base from which to explore the local area; surely just another of Cornwall’s hidden gems!"
