The Mount B&B - Bed & Breakfast in Cumbria
Portinscale, Keswick, CA12 5RD, Cumbria
England,
Reino Unido
The Mount is let as a B&B during school time and a self-catering home during the school holidays. It's a great place for couples and families, with activities galore nearby and a warm, friendly space to return to. Walk - in your wet suit - to the marina and have a sailing lesson, paddle in a kayak or go for a spin on the water in the Keswick Launch.
Breakfast comes with Clive's delicious bread, locally cured bacon and conserves produced by a friend who's a dab hand at jam-setting; your dog will be perky - he gets a sausage too. You can eat outside in the award-winning garden when it's sunny.
There are five bedrooms to choose from - they all have those wake-up views. If you fancy sleeping out under the stars the shepherd's hut for one is cosy with a wood-burner, sink and loo (hop back to your private shower in the house). You don't have to get in the car for dinner – there is a pub in the village and many more in Keswick, a 20-minute walk.
