This is a friendly place where you’ll feel at home – sit and chat with Penny and Paul, read by the big inglenook in your own sitting room, enjoy tea and home-baked cake when you arrive. Aga-cooked breakfasts are served in the sitting room: a delicious tableful of home-pressed apple juice, eggs from the hens, homemade jams, seasonal fruit salad, local sausages and bacon – and bread from their daughter's bakery in Okehampton.
Step up the spiral stone stairs to your large bedroom; the bed is beautifully dressed and there are always vases of Penny's flowers as well as a tea tray with homemade shortbread and fruit. If you have extra family or friends, you can spill over into two further rooms.
Drive to Dartmoor National Park in a few minutes – there's a lovely two-hour walk in ancient Fingle Woods in Teign Valley, on the edge of the park. Have a day out on the Devon coast. Marvel at the star-studded night skies.

"Quiet, comfy, cosy. An absolute delight to stay in such a wonderfully appointed old farmhouse. Loved the real cotton napkins tied with gingham ribbon, the fresh flowers, the smell of real wax polish, the beautifully appointed bedroom, the warm wood fire, the breakfast to set one up for the day. Everything about the place is of the highest quality. We hope to go back. Loved it!"

"Have just returned from 3 nights in a very special place. Our own 16th century sitting room with log fire and quaint stairs upto a large and spacious bedroom. Everything delightfully furnished. The owners are a pleasure to meet and strike the perfect balance of being available with advice or leaving you to the privacy of your own appartment. Breakfast is top drawer and there are even two other bedrooms if you have family (sharing the one bathroom). The location is incredibly peaceful and the perfect hideaway. All in all, absolutely brilliant!"

"We had a fantastic stay at Brook Farmhouse. Penny and Paul made us feel very welcome and the house was beautiful. We had a perfect few days in Devon and it is thanks in massive part to our hosts giving us excellent advice on where to walk and where to eat. The room was so peaceful, we had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable stay. The bed and bedroom were very comfortable and the breakfast could not be faulted, from the toast, juice, cereal, yoghurt and cooked breakfast all from local ingredients and the farms own hen's eggs. I would heartily recommend this B&B, a real retreat and a real treat."

"We stayed at Brook Farmhouse as a way to break the long journey to Cornwall and we are so glad we did. The house is beautiful, the room is just perfect (the bed is extra comfy) and it is situated in the most picturesque little valley. There is a great pub nearby for a pint and lovely walks around the house. What a find! ps. breakfast with eggs from the chickens out the back was great!!"

Neatly arranged and decorated rooms with fresh flowers and fruit basket. Everything looks just as you see it on their website. Fabulous breakfast! You don't want too leave that place. Very friedly host, giving good recommendations to spend the day and evenings. Nice walks and Pubs around, however not in walking distance.

"Brook Farmhouse is an extremely pleasant and comfortable country house in the middle of nowhere, but not far from civilisation. Penny and Paul are charming hosts, the breakfast is opulent and delicious: this could just as well be a place to stay during wet and cold November days without leaving the house. In Summer it is a very convenient base to discover the beauties of Dartmoor, Dartmouth, Exeter.....

"Our weekend at Brooke Farmhouse was everything we had hope for an more! The house was lovely, the beds very comfy, everything was clean and the breakfast in the morning was delicious!! Penny and Paul were very welcoming and accommodating and made our stay all the more pleasant having such friendly hosts, not to mention their adorable dogs who were also very sweet! We had a lovely stay, the surroundings are also beautiful. I would highly recommend to all!"

"We had a lovely break at this delightful B&B which was above expectations. Penny achieved a perfect balance between being attentive and giving us privacy. The accommodation is beautifully presented and maintained with extra homely touches like fresh flowers - even in the bathroom - fruit and chocolates. The bed and bedlinen are heavenly and the breakfast delicious and plentiful. Penny served us tea and home made cake by the log fire when we arrived and again when we returned from our walk the second day. Brook Farmhouse is excellent value and a real home from home!"

"Brook Farm House is such a charming place to stay. It felt like a beautiful corner of the world where we could get away and have some space. The lady of the house was so attentive throughout our stay - she was absolutely wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Every time we came back from a walk, she would bring a in tray with a steaming hot pot of tea and some delicious home-made treats, which we enjoyed in the comfort of our own private sitting room. My favourites were the lemon drizzle loaf and her divine shortbread. She has since sent me the recipes for both. We'll be back!"

"A wonderful and quiet place to stay with very friendly welcome from both humans and the dogs! The room we had was excellent and the facilities were very good. "Our stay with Penny and Paul was really wonderful. We were met with fresh tea and homemade shortcake, taken in our our own private sitting room. Penny made us very welcome and gave us a key to come and go as we pleased and make ourselves at home. She kindly showed our 3 year old son her lovely hens in her back garden and then fed us their fresh eggs for breakfast. The bedroom was wonderfully comfortable and the farmhouse is pleasantly secluded, although still very convenient for access to Exeter and around. We had a really relaxing and refreshing stay and would heartily recommend a visit. Emma, Al and Charlie"
