Millbrook Land at The Millbrook Inn - Self-catering cottage in Devon
South Pool, Kingsbridge, TQ7 2RW, Devon
England,
Reino Unido
A lovely upside-down space with two good-sized bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs. Find fluffy bathrobes, Bramley soaps and lotions and a free-standing double-ended tub in the master bedroom for those who can't bear to be apart at bath time. Views are across to the pretty Inn and there's a solid oak staircase up to the airy loft style living room.
Spread out on huge sofas, enjoy village views through floor to ceiling windows, settle in front of a smart TV if the weather is doubtful. This is a lovely space to relax, or chat, or plan your next outing. A spacious, thoughtfully kitted out kitchen is fun for all and you'll find plenty of treats including honey and charcuterie from the farm and a loaf of home baked bread.
If you can't be bothered to cook then stumble over to the Inn for chef Iain's fabulous cooking over fire, delicious steaks, Sunday lunches with talked-about roast potatoes, fish tacos and 150 bins from small producers.

Local points of interest from Caitlin Owens:
Puntos de interés sobre la región de
Caitlin Owens:
- We like to talk about The Millbrook Inn as being between Land and Sea. We have a unique setting, ambience and culture that sits between the idyllic, thatched and rural and the rugged maritime. Each of our cottages celebrates one half of our culture.
- All of the taps at The Millbrook come from small, independent brewers from within Devon. The smallest and most independent of them all is Auld Jolene, our homemade cider made with the apples picked by hand from our own organic, ancient cider orchards.
- The Millbrook's head chef likes to be known as Big Smoke, and there isn't much that comes off our family farm that he hasn't tried smoking or barbecuing. Whatever the weather, there's bound to be some outdoor culinary action to watch from your window.
- We are less than 15 minutes from many varied beaches. Choose East Portlemouth for soft golden sand and clear, safe water, Rickham or Lannacombe for wild Atlantic swells and Great Mattiscombe for massive sunsets and multiple seal colonies.
- Staying in South Pool is sure to set your inner tidal clock. The village operates to a different, more elemental rhythm, with the tide defining walking and driving routes, ferries, pub events and beaches. You'll find yourself perfectly tuned in no time.
- Venture to Totnes for vintage boutiques, market, craft breweries and top coffee, or across to Dartmouth, an old naval port complete with castle, assorted ferries, a steam train and antique shops of military curiosities. And fish and chips, as you'd expect.
