The Barn - Self-catering house in Devon
The Barn, R/o Brownston Street, Modbury, PL21 0RQ, Devon
England,
Reino Unido
Light pours in through pretty windows to reveal deep, vibrant colours, painted panelling and exposed stone, vintage fabrics and industrial lighting - it's a cool mix of modern and antique and it works very well. Unwind in a super sitting room with a wood-burning stove, blue and white china, work stations or jigsaw spots and plenty of seating. A sweet single downstairs and three doubles (one can be a twin) upstairs have window seats and views over rooftops.
Step out to a walled patio with big table, a summerhouse with deckchairs, lots of flower beds then an archway to a proper cottage garden - a swathe of lawn, big enough for children to play games and lots of spring and summer colour, especially roses. On balmy evenings barbecue your supper out here - there's plenty of space and kit in the kitchen for everyone to join in.
Characterful towns abound: Modbury has three pubs, a butcher, good deli and lots of independent shops; lively Totnes is close too.
