Drive down narrow lanes with tall hedges to this little hamlet and an old stone family house filled with photos, pictures, loads of books, a couple of friendly dogs and memorabilia. And a Tesla charger, although check the details before you stay.
Bedrooms feel very private - you pretty much have your own wing of the house and you can come and go as you please. Breakfast will include home-laid eggs, bacon and sausages from a local farm, maybe some mushrooms foraged by Ashley. He loves cooking and will give you supper too if he has enough notice, so do ask.
Walk along footpaths across Eggardon Hill into Askerswell and the Spyway Inn for good pub grub in about 40 minutes, or just over an hour to Three Horseshoes Inn at Powerstock. Beachcombers and fossil hunters can drive to Lyme in 30 minutes.
