Fairhaven - Self-catering cottage in Gloucestershire
Underhill, Brockweir, NP16 7PE, Gloucestershire
England,
Reino Unido
Romantics and poets have long been visiting the Wye Valley for inspiration. You’ll come for the epic walks, beautiful landscapes and utter peace. This rustic cottage is kitted out for the whole family with space for six plus a child and a baby, so gather around the wood-burner for nights in after a day spent outdoors; it’s the perfect spot for kicking back with your favourite people.
Pick fresh herbs from the garden and cook up something delicious in the open-plan kitchen – there's plenty of room to eat inside or out. Take the cider and local produce from your welcome hamper and pop over the lane to the meadow to sit and watch the sunset.
Head to the village shop just ten minutes away for picnic supplies. If the weather dampens enthusiasm for the outdoors, stoke the fire, take advantage of those comfortable sofas and say goodbye to the world for a few hours.

Local points of interest from Emma Nelson:
Puntos de interés sobre la región de
Emma Nelson:
- Cook for family and friends in the large kitchen, barbeque outside, eat at a local pub or restaurant or wander to the nearby vineyard or Brewery.
- Wild deer entice you to explore the woodland - enjoy autumn colours, mushroom picking, foraging, forest bathing, magic bluebell woods in Spring. Green lanes and ancient trackways lead to hidden cottages deep in the forest.
- Gaze down on the river as swans glide past. Wander the banks of the Wye or take a train from Chepstow for a journey along the Severn. Harry Potter fans, head for the Cathedral cloisters. Lovers of the hop or vine, head for ancient galleried coaching inns.
- History envelops you - Offas Dyke, the ghosts of Tintern monks, castles - Chepstow, Raglan and Goodrich or walk in the footsteps of the Romans at Caerwent and Caerleon. Visit the courts and prisoners' cells in Shire Hall in Monmouth.
- Glorious gardens - our favourites are Dewstoke and Westbury Court. Breath-taking scenery in the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Golden Valley. Or stay put and enjoy the beauty of the valley, fall asleep in the meadow counting butterflies.
- Lots for little ones: Puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, the miniature railway and tea rooms at Tintern Old Station, Go Ape in the forest or the open air lido in Lydney. Big Pit and our personal favourite St Fagins open air museum are further afield.
