The feel inside is uncluttered and well thought out - the smooth Scandi vibe encourages you to slow down. Seven acres of meadows and orchards surrounded by Corsican pines are criss-crossed with foot paths, children can safely romp and make dens, birds twitter overhead and on clear nights you'll see a panoply of stars. You'll also find a secret willow garden, perfect for a picnic or a quiet read. A public footpath takes you to the river Wye and gentle riverside walks.
Eat indoors or by the fire pit - you'll find organic apple juice, marshmallows and chocolate waiting for you and a well-equipped kitchen if you're inspired to cook. Hay-on-Wye with its many book shops also has good pubs and independent shops for stocking up. If the weather is playing up it'll be fine indoors by the wood-burner while you gaze through floor to ceiling windows at the drama.
Comfortable beds have Welsh woollen blankets and there's space for an extra child. Drift off in countryside peace.
