Temple Lodge Club - Bed & Breakfast in London
51 Queen Caroline Street, Hammersmith, W6 9QL, London
England,
Reino Unido
Temple Lodge, once home to the painter Sir Frank Brangwyn, is sandwiched between a courtyard and a lushly landscaped garden. The peace is remarkable making it a very restful place - simple yet human and warmly comfortable, a nourishing experience. Alicja and a devoted team run it with quiet energy. Breakfast is a help yourself buffet of Rude Health cereals, plant based milk and yogurts, poached or boiled eggs, tomatoes with chives. Vegans are also catered for.
There are three very smart new garden rooms and the rest are in the main house. Views from all windows are green, exceptional in central London and next door is The Gate Vegetarian restaurant, at which guests get a 15% discount. You're welcome to find a spot to sit in the garden by the tinkling fountain or pick up a book and read in the extensive library.
The Thames passes by at the end of the road, Riverside Studios is round the corner for theatre and film.
This place is one of our Sawday’s Community Champions – not-for-profit organisations receiving subsidised Sawday’s membership as recognition for their support of causes and communities.

- You’re so close to Hammersmith Bridge with very good pubs on the banks of the Thames for a pint; watch the rowing clubs prepare to power along the river; and even visit William Morris' House if you choose the right day.
- There’s a lovely loop along the Thames, up to Putney Bridge one side, part of the Thames Path - then back the other,it takes about an hour and a half, though the odd pub may delay you.
- On the far side of the Thames - the Surrey side in boat-race speak - you’ll find the marvellous Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust - bird watching in the city when you hardly realize your in it!
- Around the corner - literally - you’ll find the Riverside Studios, one of London’s artistic hubs, brilliant for film retrospectives, theatre and exhibitions, even the odd musical. You don’t need to be a member, just spin round and see what’s on.
- A five-minute stroll along the river will take you the famous River Café. OK, it’s probably going to set you back about £65 each, but it’s a great little place and worth a splash out on big occasions.
