Off-piste drivers will delight in the approach – down a stone track, over an open field, across a ford and through grassy woodland. You land in a dreamy, bucolic setting with an arboretum and views over two deep water lakes (yes you may swim, and yes you may use a little boat) with island, waterfalls, a small summerhouse that revolves, and a stream teeming with wildlife.
A veranda and patio with table and chairs face south so you won't miss a thing; writers, artists and those clutching a large drink may take root here on less chilly days. Your wooden cabin is comfortable and very cosy: find one fresh and airy living/dining room with a fully formed kitchen area and plenty of good seating; glass doors open out to the terrace.
The main bedroom has a giant bed with a pretty batik bedspread; the bunk room is fine for adults or children. You're left homemade jams and usually a cake. The sky will be starry on clear nights.
