Another bright, beamed and history-filled place to stay on the smart Upton Cressett estate with walks from the door and much comfort within

There's plenty of room to spread out in this high-ceilinged, open plan space with exposed brickwork, lots of comfy seating, a writing desk and French doors to your own private patio. In summer there are outdoor tables, chairs and a barbecue. You'll find basics in the kitchen but plenty of swish kit for cooking and you can buy a luxury hamper full of local food and wine. The owners can also offer in-house catering with their own staff and cook.

Bedrooms (one up a spiral staircase) are a good size, with deep mattresses, crisp cotton sheets and sparkling bathrooms with White Company soaps and lotions - the master has a roll top bath. On chilly days you can hunker down with the electric fire and read a book or watch a movie or sport on Sky. There are lovely walks through the historic grounds and gardens.

Larger parties, up to 18, can take other properties on the estate and use the Dragon Banqueting Hall for special occasions.
