There's a glamorous look to this mellow stone hideaway for two, with a mix of contemporary and antique furniture, funky artworks, pretty plants and a lovely courtyard garden. It's light, bright and easy to be in, even on cooler days when you can snuggle in with the radio on and play a game of chess or backgammon. Walkers will be out all day tackling 19 miles of glorious countryside on the East Mendip Way - or even further to the west.
A thoughtful kitchen has oodles of kit, a proper coffee machine and organised recycling. You'll find basics for cooking plus a French wicker basket full of local treats, including freshly-baked sourdough from Frome and butter and milk from Bruton Dairy. Chunky stairs will take you to a very well-dressed bed and an immaculately tiled shower room with Faith in Nature soaps and shampoo.
On summer evenings you'll be outdoors sipping something delicious on comfortable seats while the barbecue fires up.
