East Quay Pod 5 - Participatory Art - Self-catering apartment in Somerset
Accommodation at East Quay
East Quay, Watchet, TA23 0AQ, Somerset
England,
Reino Unido
It's a joy to stay in this quirky, architect designed space. You're high up and enter via an external staircase from the second floor viewing platform; find a double bed, smart shower room and a space for a kettle, fridge, toaster, then a mezzanine up a ladder for long, harbourside views or just to escape with a book. Wander to the restaurant downstairs if you want for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with home-baked cakes and delicious locally-sourced dinners.
Visit the gallery spaces, talk to local artists, explore the concept behind East Quay - it's had an explosive impact, not only on Watchet but on the architectural world, described as 'the most interesting' design in the UK at the moment. Walk down to the (nearly enclosed) harbourside to find out about the maritime history of the town, its connection with paper making and Victorian poets.
Walking and cycling are sublime in any direction, beaches are close.
This place is one of our Sawday’s Community Champions – not-for-profit organisations receiving subsidised Sawday’s membership as recognition for their support of causes and communities.
