Hemington Coach House - Self-catering in Somerset
64 Alexandra Road, Frome, BA11 1LX, Somerset
England,
Reino Unido
Emily has thought of every comfort in this clever new build: vast windows allow light to pour in, underfloor heating keeps you warm, the lighting is intimate, the artwork very good (some from local artists) including an exquisite hand blown glass bubble light from Syria. Downstairs is open plan with plenty of space, squishy sofas, wooden parquet floors, and doors which open to the walled garden - all yours.
The kitchen is to the side of the living space and you'll find local milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and local honey - fresh flowers too. A farmhouse oak table means cooking and eating are sociable affairs. Upstairs are two soothing bedrooms and bathrooms: Kate Forman or Susie Watson fabrics, feather and down duvets, Bramley soaps and lotions.
There are lovely walks along the river to Mells and Great Elm, dropping in on pubs selling local cider and ales.

Local points of interest from Emily Doherty:
Puntos de interés sobre la región de
Emily Doherty:
- The house is a five minute walk from the cafe culture and vintage shops of Frome's cobbled streets. Frome also has an independent cinema, several theatres and hosts a summer festival for artists, poets, musicians, comedians and chefs, with craft workshops.
- From March, on the first Sunday of every month, the Frome Independent Market takes over the town and fills the streets with artisan bakers, butchers, farmers, artists, live cooking stalls, musicians and a huge antiques market.
- Frome is filled with wonderful eateries: the Rye Bakery in its converted chapel, Eight Stony Street with pizza, extensive wine list and views of vintage Catherine Hill and Hesperian Fish down at Station approach, with delicious menu and East London vibes.
- Wonderful walks abound from Frome including a river walk through the villages of Great Elm and Mells, (conveniently ending at much lauded The Talbot Inn, Mells). It is also surrounded by wild Somerset countryside - Salisbury Plain & the Mendips (AONB)
- Frome is a perfect base for exploring the city of Bath, Wells Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, Longleat House & Stourhead House and Gardens, Glastonbury, Stonehenge, Wells Cathedral, Kilver Court Designer Outlet, Hauser and Wirth Art and The Newt, Bruton.
- Although it is centrally located, the house is a particularly calm, light oasis and the garden is private - not overlooked. Our mattresses have been hand picked from the Original Bed Company, King's Road, London and our bed linen is hotel quality.
