It's all on one floor with an open-plan living and dining space, faultlessly comfortable and with a happy mix of old beams, pristine new oak and underfloor heating powered by an air source heat pump. Light floods in through bifold doors which lead out to the garden where you'll find furniture for lounging, a table for al fresco meals and a barbecue. You can also hire a hot tub.
Bedrooms (one can be a twin and two have attractive exposed flint walls) have well-dressed king size beds, plump mattresses and spotless bathrooms – one en suite, the other shared. The kitchen is modern and well equipped and you are left all the basics plus local eggs, cheese, biscuits and bread to start you off. A corner sofa has room for all and there's a big TV if the weather is foul.
There are wonderful walks from the door through pristine countryside, narrow lanes with high hedges, then miles of well-kept farmland. Nip into pretty Eye for shops.
