Working farm with sheep, geese and chickens deep in the Sussex countryside. Zsa and Stephen's friendly family house is full of books and comfortable places to perch. Close to Gatwick too, so an easy stopover.
Your large bedroom gets the morning sun and has a Juliette balcony – little ones can have a grandchild's room if needed. Breakfast includes home-laid eggs, locally grown tomatoes and mushrooms, fruit from the orchard, yogurt and croissants. Eat at the table in the big kitchen or out on the patio when it's balmy.
Explore Zsa's brimming garden, which she opens for the NGS; find wild areas, mown paths, veg patch and aviary – tennis courts and trampoline too. Walk across fields to eat at the local pub, or head to Southwater (five miles) for more choice, including a good Indian.
