This hotel has a guest book signed by Pierce Brosnan and Kylie Minogue but you, your children, and the dog will be welcomed with equal grace. There’s much to do in a huge choice of drawing rooms and good food and drinks are served in several different areas, all lively and bustling.
This isn’t an old-fashioned hushed sort of place: staff wear a uniform but there’s a light-hearted feel and they are über efficient without being in the least fawning. Children have their own menu, can play in three acres of garden and swim in the pool at certain times while you wind down in the spa. There's even a warm outdoor hose for dogs and wellies.
Broadway has two museums, a fantastic deli and lots of independent – rather expensive - shops, but you’re on holiday. Walk to Broadway Tower in half an hour, hop on a steam train or hire bikes. Return for drinks in the atmospheric bar then dinner in the Russell Room - dogs welcome too.
