The Crusoe - Inn in Fife
Lower Largo, KY8 6BT, Fife
Scotland,
Reino Unido
The tide comes right up under the bedrooms and lashes the windows in the bar when it's rough – you'll feel like you're on a sturdy boat. The bar downstairs with exposed stone walls is relaxed and filled with locals, guests and holidaymakers in summer; sip ales from local brewers here, or study the good wine list while you decide what to eat. All is sourced from local, listed suppliers and served in the upstairs dining room. The menu sports pub classics alongside plenty of seasonal seafood.
Bedrooms (one suite, the rest doubles or twins) all have sea views, large fluffy towels, Nespresso machines and soaps and lotions from Laura Thomas Co. You'll drift off under Egyptian cotton to the sound of the sea. Wake for a cracking full Scottish (with veggie version) or locally smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and other choices.
At low tide you can walk along the beach, breathing fresh air, examining rock pools, feeling refreshed.
