Mountain Cottage - Self-catering in Gwynedd

It's an adventure just getting here down a farm track on the edge of the mountain. The moment you arrive at Mountain Cottage you’re swept up in the view: sit on the front door stoop and dream. The house is a traditional mountain dwelling, transformed from a ruin but utterly unspoiled, its uneven stone walls and internal window shutters unusually, delightfully intact.
The living area, warm, woody and open plan, is the hub of the house, with a fireplace centre stage and a big comfy sofa. The kitchen has all the pots and pans you need, superb views for the cook and a Rayburn to churn out the heat. Bedrooms are lovely and each window has a view.
Outside: mossy walls, bracken and wildflowers in spring, a small natural swimming pond for cooling off in summer and utter peace and quiet. Stock up in Pwllheli - just a short drive, stride the coast path round the peninsula, tackle the Snowdonia National Park on foot or by bike.
