On a 17th-century farmstead near Usk, circled by sheep-sprinkled fields and happy hens, this carefully renovated stone cottage is perfect for couples who want to immerse themselves in nature. Rambles start from the door through fields and woods or it's an easy stroll to the nearby pub, The Hall Inn, for supper if you're feeling lazy about cooking.
Adorned with original art and bright with fresh flowers, downstairs is open plan with a neat kitchen to rustle up meals, a sofa bed for extra guests and a lovely upstairs bedroom with a smart shower room. On rainy days you can dip into board games, books or watch a DVD from the huge collection.
It'll be bliss to spend the entire day out exploring – Usk, Raglan Castle and Chepstow are all close – and return for a barbecue in the pretty garden, a wander through the wildflower meadow or a simple evening staying in by the fire and getting cosy. Alicia leaves you freshly baked bread and homemade jams for breakfast.

- The small, historic, picturesque town of Usk is less than 2 miles away. Known as "The Town of Flowers" Usk is a regular winner of the annual Wales in Bloom competitions and during the summer months its streets are filled with many beautiful floral displays.
- An excellent country pub, The Hall Inn serving food and drink, just 200 metres across the road from the farm and there are many other excellent pubs and restaurants within a close drive in Usk and Raglan.
- Miranda Shaw Yoga offers yoga sessions in Gwehelog village hall (just beyond the pub) on Monday evenings and several other sessions locally throughout the week.
- Wyldwood Willow offers regular and very popular, willow weaving workshops just down the road.
- The Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Wye Valley are all within a short drive and there are many beautiful ruins of castles and abbeys.
