The Cottage - Self-catering in Dordogne
Les Charmes de Carlucet, 24590 Saint-Crépin-et-Carlucet, Dordogne
Aquitaine,
Francia
The main outdoor terrace is completely private. There's no better place to be for a sundowner with memorable views over a verdant valley towards the Romanesque church on the opposite hill. Indoors is heated or cooled depending on the weather, with a pellet burner for chilly evenings. Find TV, books and board games in the sitting room and double doors which open onto the terrace.
Bedrooms, one downstairs, two up in the eaves and all with their own bathrooms, are very restful with thick toppers, Kerry's art and photographs on the walls, and lovely views. The kitchen is gleaming and bristles with lots of kit and a welcome pack but you can have a chef if you prefer. The owners host watercolour painting courses in spring and autumn.
Sunny evenings with a barbecue on the terrace and the big table for al fresco suppers will put you in holiday mode – if you're a bigger party you can take the next door house too.
