Caro and Seán are passionate about organic and biodynamic wine, and on this ancient estate they will immerse you in the intricate and fascinating world of growing, creating and understanding it.

The setting is utterly lovely, with views pouring over steeply sloping ranks of vines, rolling hills and woodland. Your lodge, previously a ‘chai’ (winery), has been thoughtfully and eco-consciously converted - inside are honeyed oak and poplar, natural paints on hemp, chalk and stone walls and big windows for those marvellous views. Rainwater is harvested, and solar panels are on the way too.

It’s a short walk to Saussignac to order your daily bread from the community café and a superb restaurant. In fact, you could spend days here without using the car – a cycle ride along the Grande Randonnée, a stroll in the woods and vineyards, a lazy afternoon’s reading beneath a shady fig or swimming in the saltwater pool.

"We spent a week in the newly renovated Cottage, where we stayed first in 2010. It is extremely comfortable now, and well equipped. The views from the cottage are wonderful with vineyards all around. It was harvest time so lots of activity, with the chance to take part! Excellent wine tastings too. We love it here - out 6th visit. "We stayed in the wine cottage for a week with our 1 year old and it became a home from home except far more beautiful. The cottage is stunning with lots of room & 2 balconys for breakfast or sipping a glass of their delicious wine at sunset. The pool is refreshing after days out sightseeing & visiting the beautiful market towns close by. We made great friends with the cats, chickens & especially the lovely Dora. We had a fantastic wine tasting session with the very knowledgeable Ceciele. We learnt so much & went home with a new organic philosophy. We had an amazing trip & can't wait to return!"

"We spent a wonderful 10 days in the Wine Lodge with our 10 month old little girl in May 2015. What a fantastic time. The lodge was very comfortable and perfectly equipped for our family stay. The setting of the vineyard is on a beautiful hilltop location and is a lovely stroll into the village for lunch at the Lion D'Or. The Wine Lodge is a really relaxing spot to wind down and sample French country life - strolling through the vines, feeding the chickens and tasting some great wine from Terroir Feely! "

"We had a lovely stay in the Wine Lodge. It was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. And of course, the views are magical. The new swimming pool is also a super new addition. Caro and Sean are great hosts and we loved the day tour of the vineyard with lunch and wine making in the afternoon. Their conviction and passion for biodynamic winemaking is utterly convincing, compelling and frankly, with hindsight, logical. I would wholeheartedly recommend staying here to anyone with a love of wine and a decent set of tastebuds."

"Our stay at Terroir Feely in the Wine Lodge was the perfect retreat whilst remaining close enough to Bergerac etc to enjoy the twice weekly market and all that this lovely area has to offer. The lodge is very well equipped and really comfortable. The views over Feely vineyards and neighbours is very relaxing. There can't be anything better than drinking wine produced from the vines you are surveying from your terrace. We would recommend too one of Caro's wine pairing lunches and tours. This was a fun and informative way of sampling Feely wines. We look forward to returning before too long."

"We spent a week in the wine cottage for our honeymoon. It was a lovely relaxing holiday, spent largely outdoors - the countryside is idyllic, even the half-hour cycle to and from Gardonne for groceries is gorgeous! The cottage is pretty and spacious - rustic and has everything you'll need. We had a bottle of sparkling wine on the house - very tasty! - and enjoyed the food at the restaurant in Saussignac. It's a lovely, remote, romantic getaway (especially remote without a car, but we liked that!). Thank you!"

"I so enjoyed my stay at Chateau Haut Garrigue. The views of the vineyard from the cottage were amazing. The cottage was spotless & very comfortable . Caroline Feely was most welcoming & very friendly The wines at Chateau Haut Garrigue are truly wonderful. A gift of a bottle of their rose wine was in the fridge as a gift - this was a lovely gesture. The small , pretty village of Saussignac is a 10 minute walk from the cottage. Saussignac has restaurant , a depot du pain, an epicerie & a post office . Ihope to return soon to the Wine Cottage . "
