From its lofty position the old hunting lodge looks out over fields of sunflowers. In the converted stable, the airy kitchen has all you need, and a welcoming bottle of local wine. Useful maps show you the way to the colourful local markets for the seasons’ best produce, and there are books and games and space for lounging, but you’ll soon be drawn outdoors.
Four good sized rooms each have their own bathroom, elegantly aging stone walls and white shuttered windows looking over fields and forest. Mornings are filled with a chorus of birdsong.
Cool off in the pool on hot summer days, set within a walled garden, with shady seats to dive into a book. Acres of parkland surround the house, you are free to explore; gather mushrooms in the woods, pick cherries and figs in the orchard. Chance upon quaint hilltop towns with bustling markets and narrow cobbled streets. Dine under the stars on local produce and good wine at the famous night markets.
