Sitting pretty, opposite the ancient church and right on the river - with its own jetty - Jan’s home is comfortably quirky, and spotless. In what was once the village inn you’ve a little warren of downstairs rooms with a huge collection of vinyl, loads of books, French, Dutch, Danish and English antiques; country breakfasts and dinners, served beautifully, in the kitchen or on one of the terraces. Peaceful bedrooms, up winding stairs, with gentle views; two cosy under the eaves - and bathrooms both properly modern and pleasingly retro. Take to the river, hire an E-bike and go cycling, explore Besançon and the vineyards of the Côte d’Or.
