The Gulf of Ajaccio is known for its beaches. Head for the turquoise waters of Ruppione (26km), perhaps with a picnic in tow. Borrow the bikes and pedal into town: Ajaccio is the birthplace of Napoleon. As darkness falls, drive 20 minutes to the Pointe Parata, to watch the sun set over the Sanguinaires Archipelago.
