Inside are bookcases, a baby grand, and huge, light, airy bedrooms. One is in the old wine pressoir, another's on the first floor, and two with beamed ceilings, are on the second floor. 'Le Fruitier', perfect for a small family, has independent access from the garden. Relax in deckchairs in the grassed courtyard, swim in the saltwater pool on the upper lawn.
After a day's discovering the many nearby châteaux, such as Villandry and Azay-le-Rideau, comes another treat: dinner with your fellow guests at the candlelit table, where Martine's traditional dishes are accompanied by wines from the winery up the road. Be sure to ask her about local tastings!
