- Since the Manor you can visit many Castle within 30 minutes: Amboise Chenonceau, Loches, Villandry, Azay le RideauYou can make a balloon flight to fly over the region of castles
- You can have dinners at the "table d'hôte" , which is prepared by Dominique with mainly with vegetables and fruits from the garden and from the season.
- From the Manor you can run in the morning before hitting the road in full shape; summer after a long day the pool will open your appetite or you wake up according to water temperature

"Stayed at this lovely place on our way back up through France, sadly for just the one night, wish it could have been more. Quiet, peaceful and glorious setting and a very comfortable, spotlessly clean room with beautiful views, reached by a stone staircase within the turret. Dominique and Pascale were warm, wonderful hosts and we sat down to a table d'hote laden with salad and vegetables from the garden, roast beef, a platter of local cheeses, and home-made hazelnut nougat with cherries and prunes steeped in sweet liqueur. A really memorable end to our holiday, we'll return if we possibly can"

"We stayed at the beautiful, characterful and peaceful Manoir de Chaix for one night on our way from Brittany to the Rhone Valley. It is an oasis of calm with its walled garden and home grown produce. Our room was delightful with windows looking out to the front and back of the gardens. Dinner, which we shared with one other guest and served by Christian was perfect with the most delicious hors d'oeuvres served with the aperitif. Breakfast came with an abundant choice of home made jams, fresh croissants and baguette. Thank you for looking after us so well Christian"

"I feel very fortunate to have spent my final night in France in such a magical place. Le Manoir de Chaix is ideally situated for breaking a journey across France; but despite it's convenient proximity to the A10 and A85, it feels as though it is in the middle of nowhere - incredibly quiet, with dark night skies and surrounded by acres of woodland and countryside. It's a beautiful building with a lovely walled garden - in which Madame grows much of the produce that appears on the table. Big, airy rooms, lovely views, a warm welcome. Highly recommended!"

"Brilliant host in Christian and what a cook! Several people were there for the fourth or fifth time, which in itself speaks volumes. Superbly placed for the chateaux. I have already had a request to do a revue (in French) for the Manoir de Chaix. It was good when sending e-mails, they indicated to just put Manoir de Chaix into TomTom, and it would take you straight there: it did. "

"Our third visit and ideal distance from Roscoff for a day's journey. So quiet and peaceful, everything calm and comfortable, and the added benefit of a delicious dinner (requested in advance) with other guests. Breakfast is a challenge to select from about 24 home-made jams incluidng tomato and cucumber, all delicious."

"A lovely setting, we stopped off for the night on the way home and had a very relaxing stay. Great food for dinner and fantastic breakfast - homemade jams of every flavour. We will be looking to book again for next year"

"What a fantastic place! A charming building, beautifully restored in a lovely and peaceful location. Hospitality was excellent and the food incredible - the beef was perfect! Many things were produced from the garden and were, pretty much, as good as it gets! I highly recommend a stay in this interesting and very friendly place. "

"A great place to stay and really convenient for visitors to the Loire valley. Comfortable and well appointed room in a Manoir of great character. Breakfast sumptuous with an array of preserves, 20 in all, with labels to severely test your knowledge of French! Would happily return if travels take us to that region again."

"One of the loveliest places we have stayed; a beautifully restored manoir in keeping with visits to some of the grandest chateaux of the Loire! The room was large, luxurious and beautifully furnished. The hospitality could not have been better; aperitifs in the garden before dinner, wonderful cuisine with home grown vegetables and excellent local wines complimented by stimulating conversation around the large dining table. Breakfast was a delight with a choice of 20 different preserves; a hard choice for early in the morning! Thank you and we will definitly try to come again!"

"We stayed 3 nights in this lovely old manor house. Very convenient for all the atractions of the Loire valley.
Christian proved to be a capable, charming and solicitous host. Our room was large and comfortable and the evening meals we ate were both delicious and satisfying. We ate them round a large table with all the other guests (mostly French and Belgian) which challenged our limited vocabularly a little but proved a rich experience. Breakfast was incredible with a choice of no less than 20 confitures to delight the palate including both traditional and original flavours (never had tomato jam before!). All delicious! Best of all we were able to buy a selection of our favourites as we left.
We will definitely repeat our visit next time we're in the area."
