Tucked in the corner of Brenne Natural Regional Park, a vast parkland dotted with over 2,000 lakes which are a haven for wildlife and migratory birds, is a charming home-from-home. Friendly owners live in the adjacent farmhouse and are full of tips on how best to discover the area, from markets and restaurants to cultural and historical sites.
Families can relax in this comfortable, renovated barn filled with original art. You get two generous en suite bedrooms and a twin mezzanine for children (mind the steep stairs) plus a neat kitchen and a separate dining/living space. Every window looks out to immaculately kept grounds and fields. It's all yours to roam including three lakes to stroll around and a veg patch you may plunder.
Eat out in nearby Lureuil (4km), return for a game of pétanque followed by a digestif in your leafy paved terrace as you soak up the total peace and quiet.
