The three buildings are classic Loire Valley; the well-tended garden, its pool-in-a-barn cleverly fitted into an 18th-century wine tank, and the soft new décor - lovely bedrooms and bathrooms - bring a sense of ease and elegance. And Madame is a wonderful hostess; add her culinary prowess and you have a travelling gourmet’s treat. Breakfast is the freshest imaginable with marvellous pastries (Madame took a course…). Then walk it off exploring the glorious châteaux. You can book dinner, and they will love you if you drive a vintage car. For wine buffs, cyclists, château-lovers, here is a touch of luxury in a sea of vineyards.
