Gite du Rossignol - Self-catering house in Haute-Garonne
Chateau de Seguenville
1 Soureillan du Château, 31480 Cabanac-Séguenville, Haute-Garonne
Midi - Pyrénées,
Francia
It's peaceful here, deep in the countryside beside the 17th-century château, built by le Seigneur de Faudoas and with sweeping views over fields and the snow-capped mountains. Sitting on the terrace for a morning cup of tea or a sundowner will be uplifting. A well thought-out kitchen, large and light, is a grand space for all to sit and chat or help with the cooking and you'll find basics in the cupboards plus a welcome hamper of local food and wine.
Bedrooms (one downstairs with its own shower room and doors to the terrace) are calm and uncluttered; bathrooms have mood lighting, tiptop showers and underheated cosy stone floors. Up the chunky oak staircase is a huge L-shaped living area with warm brickwork, exposed A-beams and plenty of windows for that view. Outside you'll find a small lawned area and you have the use of the owners' swimming pool.
Spend lazy days indoors, head off for long walks, relish the tranquillity.

Local points of interest from Rebekah Jamieson:
Puntos de interés sobre la región de
Rebekah Jamieson:
- Very much a rural environment, it is perfect for cyclists and walkers, photographers and those that love to paint. But equally peaceful for those who just want to soak in the ever changing scenery - especially the sunflowers in season.
- COX has a pottery museum and CADOURS is famous for its purple garlic as well as Chateau Lareole.
- Dining options here require a car, but from the delicate patisseries of Beaumont de Lomagne to the Michelin rated Chateau de Drudas there is always something to suit your palate and budget.
- Once surrounded by vineyards, the area is now more agricultural but the Caves de Saint Sardos are well worth a visit
- Water Sports and lake bathing are plentiful - St Criq, Beaumont de Lomagne and Saint Clar to name just a few options. A day trip to the beaches near Narbonne or a stroll down the Canal du Midi brings in a fascinating change of scenery.
- Further afield, but still within driving distance, are the amazing Capitale in Toulouse and the Cathedral in Auch, or the Armagnac houses of the Gers. It is also a straight run to Pic du Midi in the Pryrenees (for skiing, hiking or the observatory).
