A really wonderful house, bursting with history and beautiful architecture. Bénédicte is warm, engaging and a delight to stay with, opening her home and also the impressive grounds in an informal, relaxed way. Light floods in to a rich red dining room with oak parquet floor and picture windows overlooking lawns and river; the salon is calming and has equally fine views; upstairs are lofty-ceilinged bedrooms with Persian rugs and family antiques. Breakfast is round the large table: freshly-squeezed orange juice, local cheeses, bread from the local bakery, homemade cakes and jams. Energetic walks abound - or just stroll the parkland.
