All the bedrooms are named after artists with close links not just to the village of Valmondois but to Laurent’s fascinating, cultured family. Three overlook a peaceful terraced garden and one the village square.
The upstairs drawing room is pleasingly book-lined, breakfast includes Valmondois honey and is served in the big dining room at one sociable table. Laurent speaks excellent English and can give you plenty of tips about the village he loves so much.
Wander to the village square for a spot of people-watching or a visit to the bakery and a café which does lunch. Beyond is beautiful countryside for walking and cycling, a riverside beach for swimming and hikes in the Park.
