Dereenaraig - Self-catering cottage in Co. Kerry
Castlecove, , Co. Kerry
Munster,
Irlanda
At this homely cottage beneath the Kerry Dark Sky Reserve, you can explore sandy beaches by day and gaze at galaxies by night. Built centuries ago this rustic, whitewashed farmhouse is circled by fields and hills. Walks start from the door and you're a kilometre from both the coast and the Ring of Kerry. The closest beach White Strand is stunning, popular with locals but never crowded.
Arrive to a welcome basket of seasonal goodies; the kitchen is well kitted out with everything you need to rustle up hearty meals. A wood-burner warms the big, old-fashioned dining room, there's a comfy sitting room with a TV for rainy days, and three cosy bedrooms upstairs.
Families will love the sandy beaches - snorkel, kayak, paddle board. Take a trip to the Skellig Islands, an ancient monastic settlement; wander around chic Waterville; visit Derrynane house. The Wild Atlantic Way and the Ring of Kerry are yours to explore.
