Slow down as you spiral up from Lake Como to a 400-year-old cascina floating in Spina Verde's bucolic hills. Be inspired by soaring Alpine views and by Samuel's stylish eco-friendly restoration. The smell of fresh pine wafts through stone-walled bedrooms with huge beams, fireplaces, oriental rugs and bold red splashes. You lay your sleepy head on organic pillows, scribble postcards on reclaimed tables, fling open shutters to mountain views. Nature keeps the old farm estate beautiful with wild flowers, birds, bees and other creatures who buzz, tweet, flutter and scurry around the chestnuts, fruit trees and olives. Stroll through them to a hidden thousand-year-old sanctuary. Breakfast – perhaps homemade pancakes, organic eggs, garden berries – is a treat under the portico or in the vaulted Sala da Pranzo, where logs crackle in a new fireplace. - The picturesque routes between Lake Como and Lake Lugano weave between magnificent villages, villas and botanical gardens. Boat tour, hiking and swimming.
- The medieval centre of the city of Como invites you to stroll amongst its historic buildings, the Cathedral, the Basilica and churches, discovering small restaurants in the narrow streets of the historic centre.
- A short walk takes you to the Sanctuary of Drezzo of the eleventh century, which has a wonderful view of the western Alps. Local festival 6th-14th of August. Paths from the Cascina lead to the Park Spina Verde of Como, on foot or by mountain bike.
- Geo-Park "Gole delle Breggia" is an interesting geological journey. Starting from the old Mill Ghitello you can follow the winding path of the river Breggia.
- You can reach the "Monte Generoso", 1700m, by foot or with the traditional train.Gourmet Restaurant on top. Incredible views of lakes and surrounding mountains.
- Monte San Giorgio, UNESCO World Heritage Site for its wealth of paleontology, you can visit the museum, the ruins and learn about the history of these important discoveries.

"Remote, Rustic and Wonderful. Over the years I have booked many superb places to stay recommended by Sawdays and I rate this one as simply the best. Initially I was purely looking for an overnight B&B in the Como area as I was driving from Englnd to near Florence in Italy. There were 4 in our party and the family suite was perfect and made a change from two separate rooms in the normal B&B hotels. After looking at the photos, we decided to stay another night and would have loved to stay more. Samuel was fantastic serving breakfasts and an evening meal on the covered area just outside our suite"

"If you want a memorable experience to share with your friends then stay here! It is a magical and inspirational place where you feel the soul of Italy. I stayed a week for an oil and cold wax painting workshop. Samuel makes you feel welcome! The ambiance of the cascina, the fabulous food from the garden and the lodging is comfortable and everything you could ask for. I will be back in the future and highly recommend it to everyone."

"We had a very warm welcome at this lovely rustic retreat. Our room was very comfortable and airy with the added bonus of a kettle, so we were able to enjoy a hot, refreshing mug of tea every night on the terrace. Bliss!
Samuel was a great host and very helpful and informative.
Very tasty and nutritious breakfasts freshly prepared with home sourced organic ingredients were a great start to the day.
In summary a real gem and excellent value.

"So beautiful and a fantastic host. We arrived late and tired after a very long journey with our dogs. Samuel welcomed us, fed us a fabulous three course meal and watered us with excellent organic wine. Breakfast was also all homemade with bread, cakes and jams and fresh leaf, herbal tea. Our room was gorgeous. Huge, open fire place, lovely bathroom, really comfy bed. Very dog friendly as well. Samuel and his family have painstakingly restored this beautiful building and everything they do is focussed on sustainability. I completely recommend a visit."

"Cascina Rodiani was our 2nd overnight stay, driving from UK to Tuscany (the scenic route). On arrival we were impressed by the private and secluded entrance leading up to a fantastic, immaculately restored cascina. Beautiful grounds and surrounding area. Samuel was a fantastic host and produced excellent food served on the balcony area, right outside our door. "The most amazing start to our holiday. We stayed here on our drive from the UK to Tuscany. Everything about it was perfect. The rooms and the bathrooms, the bed linen and the views. We opted to eat there one night and Samuel's food was amazing. He also has a selection of delicious wines for you to try. Breakfast was also delicious and the peace and the tranquility of the place was wonderful. We travelled with our 3 children (14, 12 and 8). They loved it too, particularly as Samuel was so welcoming. A brilliant, family friendly retreat. Would definitely recommend and we hope to return."

"How lucky we were to book five nights in Cascina Rodiani. It gave us time to enjoy the place- an old, renovated farm, with lots of fruit trees that we savoured. Samuel is an excellent host, and his advice is tailored personally to his guests. In a place like Como, with so much to see, you need a guide like him. He is a great cook, too, and whenever he's preparing a joint dinner for guests, don't miss it. Our room on the first floor was huge, full of character and beutifully decorated. It's an excellent starting point for day trips. The fact that there's no TV in the room is a big advantage. "

"A wonderful experience. A beautiful location and Samuel - the owner - could not have dome more for us. A lovely room and really nice bathroom/shower. We had a fantastic four course dinner prepared by Samuel eaten on the terrace outside our room. Fresh fish, homemade ravioli and local cheeses; even a glass of local honey grappa afterwards. Breakfast was again eaten outside on the terrace with freshly squeezed watermelon & lemon juice to go with the fresh yogurt and bread. Thoroughly recommend it."

"Cascina Rodiani is located on a hill overlooking the beautiful countryside. The house is very well renovated and the room was large with a new bathroom. Our host Samuel was very friendly and spoke english fluently. He made dinner that we had outside in the evening sunshine. He used ingredients sourced from the garden or locally. It was a great way to end the day after a lot of driving. I would highly recommend Cascina Rodiani to my friends."

"Arrived late after a long and stressful drive to an oasis of calm and tranquility for a 2 night stay. Our room was spotlessly clean and cool despite the heat. Dinner at the property was simple yet delicious as were Samuel's breakfasts - he is a talented and inventive cook surrounded by his own home grown larder. Our dog was welcomed rather than tolerated.and we all enjoyed the great walking directly from the property. Waking up at Cascina Rodiani to the sound of nothing but birdsong and experiencing the peace of such a beautiful place brings joy to the soul.

"I can't recommend this B&B highly enough. It's better than many big hotels as it is totally personal - you feel at home as soon as you arrive and all the rooms are very comfortable and beautifully appointed. The house has been restored to a very high standard, the food is wonderful and the hosts also fantastic. We were supposed to stay one night, but ended up staying 3 as we loved it so much. "

"La location di per sé é qualcosa di meraviglioso, sia per il panorama, sia per la cascina del 1600. Aggiungete poi dei gestori squisiti, una pulizia impeccabile, del cibo buono e nel contempo sano, il tutto ad un prezzo più che ragionevole...Semplicemente da provare!
Credo d'ora in poi un week end all'anno lo farò in questa struttura, peraltro a basso impatto ambientale e che accetta anche i cani.
A chi può interessare sottolineo la possibilità di cibo vegetariano o vegano."

"We really loved the Cascina and having planned on staying 3 nights, we ended up staying for 7. It proved a perfect base from which to explore lake Como and we loved coming back to our spacious room and peaceful surroundings. The accomodation is finished to an exceptionally high standard. Wonderful home-made breakfast with fruit from the garden. Strolls in the evening around the garden. Samuel and Mimma were the perfect hosts. We cannot recommend the Cascina highly enough."
