This old castle and its young vineyards are perched high in the Monte Amiata Natural Park. The area produces chestnuts, mushrooms, olives and wines. Virtually undiscovered, it's known as the real Tuscany. Take lunch on the loggia overlooking the valley or stroll through the olive groves to the stunning pool on the hill.
Each big beautiful bedroom, distinguished by vintage bathtubs, paintings, beams and books, oozes family history. If you love character, it’s a huge treat.

- Monte Amiata behind Potentino is also home to a small ski resort in winter as well as being the 2nd highest (now extinct) volcano in Italy. There are beautiful woods all the way to the summit and hot springs of Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo and Saturnia
