A painter’s dream, the view from your splendid old farmhouse is a spectacular, typically Umbrian scene of fields and forests rolling in waves up to the hilltop village of Montone. The generous spaces of the big-beamed house, its two-floor layout – each with its own sitting room - and several garden patios bring privacy for all, while the communal and pool areas are just right for happy group events. The personal, pleasing décor is that of a treasured family home - think lovely original brick floors and considered colour washes - with paintings and antiques dotted about and light pouring in from all sides. There are books and DVDs to suit most tastes, and a fence all round to keep children safe. A huge old farmhouse table has pride of place in the long, modern kitchen where helpers can talk to contented cooks while garden scents waft in through the windows. Each big double bedroom has a pretty, new bathroom; one has a canopied bed, but all are equally delightful. Sally forth to Montone’s many festivals, incomparable Perugia and Assisi, wine-tasting in Montefalco, and return to watch the sun set over your calm cocoon.

- Casa Bacciana is an ancient restored farmhouse that sits amidst beautiful, tranquil Umbrian countryside and offers a breathtaking panorama of fields, woods and olive groves, and of the walled medieval village, Montone, perched on a nearby hill.
- Montone, our village (“comune” in Italian) , is minutes away by car and is a 30 minute walk. A quintessential Umbrian hilltop medieval village Montone has been officially designated as “Uno dei Borghi piu belli d’Italia”.
- Montone is just 5 minutes off the E45 superstrada which links the Venetian coast to Rome, making many places of interest (e.g. Assisi,Florence, Sienna, Urbino, Cortona and Lake Trasimeno) easily accessible from Casa Bacciana.
- The 12 x 6 metre pool with Roman steps is situated 50 metres from the house in a raised position with spectacular views accessed by wide steps from the gravelled forecourt. The depth of the pool is 1.5 metres throughout.
- The Garden at Casa Bacciana includes two terraces bordered by flower beds planted with lavender, rosemary, oleander and a variety of flowers. There is also a large expanse of lawn around the swimming pool which has its own pergola for shade.
- Casa Bacciana is a private, gated property with no immediatre neighbours, and so it is a place for those who want an escape. At the same time, the village is two minutes by car and close to local amenities in the towns of Umbertide and Citta di Castello.
