In a hidden pocket of Umbria find a gently revived, semi-detached old stone house with lush views. The owners resisted the temptation to over-restore and have accomplished a serene simplicity: reclaimed doors and terracotta floors still bear some scars of old age. Downstairs an open-plan area invites you in: a plump charcoal sofa by the an original fire, pots and pans hang in the kitchen, and a large restored table. Fling open French windows to let sunshine flood in. One bedroom is downstairs with doors to the garden, upstairs there are two more doubles; all are beamed, restful spaces dressed in white; bathrooms are spacious. There’s an extra sitting area with a wood-burner and movie projector too. The saline pool is bordered by lavender, there's a shaded area for al fresco eating, views are dreamy; there are neighbours so you feel nicely rural not isolated. A housekeeper greets with a basket of essentials including wine, pasta and homemade sauce. This is farming and vineyard country - there are walks and horse riding, but also tennis and a thermal spa.

- A super, airy tranquil house, a gorgeous saline pool, stunning views and beautiful bird song. Wine, pasta and home made pasta sauce will be there for you when you arrive. Our housekeeper Roberto will greet you and show you around.
- The nearest restaurant and bar is 3 km away. The historic walled town of Citta di Castello is 15km down the hill. The town has plenty of bars, shops, supermarkets and restaurants and there’s also a twice weekly market in the square.
- There are loads of places to visit nearby including the medieval hill top towns of Montone, and Anghiari. Montone hosts an open air film festival in the town square in July which is great fun.
- Firelies. butterflies, swifts and wild flowers in the summer. Truffle festivals in the autumn and winter.
- The house is surrounded by wonderful walks. Further down the hill there’s horse riding and tennis. A kids adventure playground with padel courts, wild swimming and waterfalls is ten minutes away.
- You are an hour from the ancient towns of Perugia, Arezzo, Assisi, Gubbio, and Urbino. Arezzo has an enourmous antique market the first Sunday of every month. Sienna is an hour and a half away and Florence is under a two hour drive .
