Beautiful vistas swoop across wooded hills, olive groves and tower-topped hamlets, and paved paths weave through cherry trees and lavender to a hammock, pergola and exquisitely positioned pool with sauna. You're on the top of the world here. Welcome to a big, solid, meticulously restored farmhouse, with chestnut windows, shutters and doors, and bedrooms rustic and spacious. Imagine old beams and terracotta, artisan fabrics and hand-painted lamps, mattresses to ensure deep sleep. The brand new dining room serves rustic dishes made from local, organic ingredients. Outside: masses of space. Your eco-conscious hosts Salvatore and Sarah, generous, kind and eager to please, think of everything to make your stay special: a communal living room with an honesty bar so you can help yourselves to drinks; a cane-covered pergola with cushioned chairs away from the view-filled pool; lavender bags and fresh flowers in the rooms. Sip Sal's homemade limoncellos over sublime sunsets on the terrace, gaze on the distant towers of Perugia – and the stars. Breakfasts are delicious too.

"This was a real "Sawadays" experience. We stayed 4 nights, and enjoyed an extreme friendly welcome, very friendly hosts. A fantastc view, infinity pool and nice garden. Sarah and Salvatore were extreme hospitable, we never feld "customers" but we felt to be guests. Uppermost good stay, dont hesitate if you are in the neighbourhood lloking for a b&b. "We spent three nights at La Caccugna and enjoyed every moment. Sarah and Sal were most welcoming and extremely helpful. Our room was quite spacious(most comfortable bed), with small kitchen/living area and private patio. Sarah was always there to suggest an itinerary - where to go, where to park, where to eat and give us lots of fascinatining inside knowledge. We particularly enjoyed breakfast with the other guests, all sitting round the same table. The views from the house were magnificent and we wished we could have stayed longer and had more opportunity to enjoy the beautiful pool. "

"The welcome at La Cuccagna could not have been warmer. Even two unseasonably wet days did not dampen it. Sal and Sarah are creating a wonderful treat for those who wish to be close enough away from the tourist sights. Their local knowledge of where to go and how to make the most of your stay added almost as much to our experience as their beautifully prepared breakfasts did to my waist line! Delightful homemade yoghurt, topped off with wonderful preserves, a great delight. Not to mention the freshly baked pastries, or cheese and meats. Memorable! We'd highly recommend it for any stay"

"We stayed here for 3 nights in Septemeber... and wanted to stay forever! Sarah & Salvatore are magnificent hosts, very friendly, very attentive,but also very discreet. Working in the hotel industry (as my husband and I do) makes us very demanding when looking for places to stay and La Cuccagna was certainly well above our expectations.The rooms are impeccable, the service fantastic, the views magnificent... We were lucky enough to enjoy Salvatore's pizza night, the best pizza we have EVER had. What more can I say... thank you both for making our three days there so relaxing and special... we hope to be able to return very soon! Jenny & Marc"
