Set back from the main road, up a neatly gravelled drive, is this shining extension to the owner's home. Inside the open-plan space is warm, stylish, airy and light, with a sweep of oak floor heated underfoot and lovely high beams above. Kick back on the suave leather sofa and Eames lounge chairs with a good book. Play a movie on the huge, Smart TV.
Behind a white muslin curtain is the bedroom space with a king-size bed. The shower room is smart and the kitchen is handy for knocking up an omelette or making a Nespresso. There are at least three good pubs within walking distance if you don't fancy cooking.
Birdwatchers will be happy, Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve is close. Glorious Goodwood is a 15-minute drive, the beach is a 15-minute stroll, and the Lamb Inn is opposite. A brilliant base for those who like to get out and about on one of the least developed stretches of the Sussex coast.
