A succession of tight country lanes weave through the riverine fields and low-lying hills to deliver you here. In the distance the Berwyn Mountains rise above the horizon and on your doorstep there are miles and miles of open countryside. Keen walkers will love it – Snowdonia and the Cambrian Coast can be reached in 90 minutes.
It’s very quiet here. Just lowing from the cattle and the distant thrum of a tractor disturb the silence. Your host, Christine, can introduce you to the ways of organic farming and the animals that live here, but otherwise will leave you to your own devices. Put a roast in the oven, light the wood-burner, warm your toes.
There’s room for six around the big table for convivial meals, but also a number of pubs a short drive away – the Station Grill in Llansantffraid (five minutes) is great for groups.

- The towns of Welshpool, Oswestry and Shrewsbury have lots to offer visitors from local produce markets, quirky shops, theatre, climbing walls, trampoline centres, plenty of cafes to relax in etc...
- There is plenty of wildlife to see at the cottages such as the family of hares, kingfisher, curlews, red kites, yellowhammers etc...
- Watch the organic Spring lambs in the surrounding fields or the cows grazing. Take the children to look at new born calves and lambs by arrangement.
- Climb the Breidden to see the views of the area and Rodney's pillar or walk the nature reserve at Llanymynech hill and heritage site of the lime kilns and canal.
