Warmth and comfort on the Pink Granite Coast where the wind and waves lull you to sleep, and bedrooms overlook the cedars or the sea

Pick a lounge (one of many) for afternoon tea and a slice of gâteau Breton. The chef’s cakes come from Danielle’s grandmother’s recipe book, and like all else are delicious. Heaped with English antiques, this 1900s cliff-perched country-house is rather French, floral and fulsome.

Gardens amble down to the big sandy beach, and the restaurant faces the sea. If you like having peace and quiet, French food, warm service, and exploring the wild north coast,you’ll be happy here.

Set off for crashing waves at Pointe de Bihit. A mostly flat 30-minute walk from Trebeurden is rewarded with glorious views of the archipelago and the sea; on a clear day you see Roscoff. Return for lazy laps in the pool, and sunsets from front bedroom balconies.
