Coombeshead Farm - The Farmhouse & Grain Store - Hotel in Cornwall
Lewannick, Launceston, PL15 7QQ, Cornwall
England,
Reino Unido
People who are passionate about good food will be very happy here. As much as possible is home-reared or grown and you can buy it all from the little shop, along with ales and wines produced by friends nearby and sourdough bread from the bakery - made with heritage wheat, spelt and rye and much of it stoneground on the farm. Settle very comfortably in the lounge with many antiques, wood-burner, books and board games - no babbling TVs, but views from most windows over fields of happy pigs, cows, sheep and chickens.
There's a cosy library with an honesty bar so you can have a tipple before going over to the restaurant for supper - a seasonally constructed menu of what is ready to be picked, harvested or butchered at the time. There are evenings for three or five courses and also Sunday lunch - booking is essential as it's open to the public too.
Throughout the year there are both bread and butchery courses on the farm so do check if you'd like to join one.

Tom & Lottie Adams:
- We have a small farm shop, wholesale sourdough bakery and restaurant on site. We rear our own animals, keep bees and grow our own vegetables and fruit. We do all of our own butchery on site as well as fresh milling flour for the bakery.
- Once the dairy farm of the Trelaske estate, we have been slowly bringing Coombeshead back to its original state as a working farm. Our aim is to ensure that we leave the land in the best possible state for the generations that follow us.
- Coombeshead is owned and run by chefs Tom Adams and April Bloomfield with the able assistance of likeminded, passionate and committed staff.
- We are only 45 minutes from both the North and South Coast of Cornwall, so not too far away for an easy beach trip. Dartmoor is just to the North of us and Bodmin Moor to the South so we are spoilt with natural beauty and outstanding walks.
- We can recommend many other pubs, cafes and restaurants in Cornwall and Devon for guests staying longer than a day or two. Staff will be delighted to chat about their favourites, most in relation to their favourite beaches or walks nearby!
- We offer butchery and bread workshops on site taught by our in house team for those who wish to learn more about how we produce, process and make our products, the ethics behind them and how to translate what we do to their home.
