Little Bank - Self-catering cottage in Derbyshire
Millers Dale, SK17 8SN, Derbyshire
England,
Reino Unido
Many little gates lead to your own porch and then an open plan room in rich, restful colours and with glorious views over the hillside. A big wood-burner with an unlimited log supply makes sure you stay cosy, Swedish cushions and throws add charm and the lighting is thoughtful. A barn sliding door leads to a good-sized kitchen with all you need, plus milk from the local dairy, fresh eggs, one of Lou's home baked cakes and a bottle of wine.
A bird feeder in your enclosed gravel garden attracts all the usual suspects but also woodpeckers, nuthatches and you may even catch a glimpse of the resident sparrowhawk. From here you can walk straight into the mixed woodland surrounding you, mainly Ash and Rhododendron - magnificent in spring. For longer walks join the Limestone Way, 46 miles of challenging moorland with rivers to cross.
Return to two neat-as-a-pin bedrooms with crisp bedding, Velux windows for stargazing and scented French soap for the shower.
