Allt-y-bela - Bed & Breakfast in Monmouthshire
Allt-y-bela
Llangwm Ucha, Usk, NP15 1EZ, Monmouthshire
Wales,
Reino Unido
It’s a rare treat to stay in this beautiful medieval farmhouse hidden down a narrow lane. Built between 1420 and 1599, Allt-y-bela is now perfectly presented for the 21st century. You’ll find conviviality and warmth, ancient beams, period furniture and an enormous log fire.
Wander through the magical garden created by the owner, Chelsea Gold Medal winner Arne Maynard. Find formal topiary, dramatic earth sculpture and gentle native planting, which allows the garden to melt into the landscape with no boundaries at all. Summer brings wild orchids to the fields around the house and innumerable other rare and beautiful wildflowers.
Breakfast on homemade apple juice, bread and jams and bacon from down the road. You can stay here all day or walk and explore this beautiful and secret valley with its streams, coppiced woods, pastures and drove-ways.
