Good bolthole with two terraces offering spectacular views over the historic town, and restaurants and bars a short stroll

Your little house is at the highest point of Medina Sedonia and has two terraces with views that reach as far as the Bay of Cadiz. Kirsty runs the hotel across the road, and you can use the swimming pool there if you like – the hotel restaurant is well worth a visit too.

Step off the cobbled street and into a small patio – you can bring a table and chairs and sit out here – with glass doors that cleverly let in light. Inside is modern, with Netflix on the TV and DVDs, books and games; find a welcome hamper filled with local treats: fruit, Serrano ham, manchego cheese, extra-virgin olive oil, Jerez sherry vinegar, pastries from the nunnery and a bottle of good red.

Sit back on a lounging cushion on the rooftop terrace and watch the sun go down over the town’s rooftops – or stroll down into town, about five minutes on foot, for plenty of bars and restaurants.

A sundowner on the terrace of La Vista de Medina. With its magnificent views of the historic town, rolling over the countryside and on to the coast, you will be watching the lesser kestrels fly below you as the sun sets over the Bay of Cadiz
The house sits adjacent to a beautiful 16th century church. More like a mini cathedral in proportions, let the calmness wash over you as you sit in the pews gazing at the amazing stonework and architecture. There are 360º views from the bell tower .
Wander 5 minutes from the house down cobbled streets to the main square for a tapas lunch. Packed with all the families at the weekends and in the summer evenings, it is a great place to soak up the local atmosphere and do a spot of people watching.
You cannot come to this area without educating yourself on and sampling the local sherries. We are only 30 minutes away from Jerez, El Puerto de Santa Maria and Sanlucar de Barrameda. The 3 towns that make up the famous Sherry Triangle
Just a 35 minute drive from Cadiz, the oldest city in Europe, this amazing compact little city has a wonderful relaxed beach vibe. Get down to the old Jewish quarter if you want packed bars and narrow streets or the beach of La Caleta for some sunbathing
We are in a great strategic location to visit many of the gems of the Cadiz province: with sandy beaches, coastal towns, national parks and historic cities, all a short drive away. Meaning you can combine exploring with some deserved rest and relaxation
