30 Overleigh Road - Self-catering house in Cheshire
Chester, CH4 7HN, Cheshire
England,
Royaume-Uni
A ten-minute stroll over the old river Dee bridge takes you from your gem of a holiday let into the charming walled town of Chester with its myriad boutique shops, bustling cafes and Cathedral. And you’re perfectly placed for Snowdonia, Liverpool and even Manchester. You step through the striking red door of this Grade II listed 1896 cottage into the hall. Branca, a seasoned traveller, has used her knowledge and flair to create a restful place to unwind: a comfy living room with wooden floors and squishy sofas in front of the fire, a smart dining room and a well-equipped kitchen where you can release your inner Nigella. All is neat as a pin and there are lots of lovely touches: hairdryers, logs for the wood-burner, Smart TV, games, books… Upstairs to three light, airy bedrooms with super mattresses, rugs on stripped floors and a neutral palette and it’s back downstairs for the spoiling bathroom stocked with Neal’s Yard goodies and fluffy towels. Outside there’s a courtyard area with barbecue and bike storage; and best of all there’s free on street parking out the back.

Branca & John Pinto da Cruz:
- Explore beautiful Chester, by foot, by bike, by boat...Walk the historic walls any time, any weather, for a different perspective of the city. Tours abound - cathedral tours, ghost tours, free tours, walking tours, bus tours and, of course, Roman tours.
- Take in a day at the races at the Roodee, the oldest racecourse in England. On a sunny day, take a seat in the Architect beer garden just over the road and hear the crowds cheer. Culture hits a new high with the 'Storyhouse' Theatre opening its doors
- We're going to the Zoo...Chester's is the biggest and best in Europe...you need a day to give it justice but you'll be glad you did. Try Go Ape at Delemere Forest or build sandcastles on the beaches of the Wirral or North Wales, all a short drive away
- Take a break from the sight-seeing with afternoon tea in the stunning Grosvenor Hotel, or grab a take-away cuppa and find yourself a bench in the Roman Gardens. Shop shop shop...Chester Rows, Cheshire Oaks...venture to LiverpoolOne or Manchester's Trafford
- Chester centre is full of lovely places to dine and drink, or you can pop to Notting ''Hoole'' grab a cocktail in the stylish Suburbs, a beer in the relaxed Faulkner pub then have a feast in the Sticky Walnut.
- If your boots are made for walking, try Cheshire's Sandstone and Crocky trails. The stunning Wirral peninsula with country parks and beautiful sunsets. Take in the views at Hoylake, home of the Royal Liverpool golf course, host of the Open golf tournament
