Kate makes you feel at home the moment you enter her great big beloved house - full of books, guitars and a piano, antiques and huge spaces

Read guest comments

A huge old Cornish house that's been in Kate's family since 1760 – along with Indian rugs, heavy furniture, ornate plasterwork, portraits and a piano… even a harp. Historians will be in their element: pass three Celtic crosses dating from the 8th century before the long drive finds the imposing house (all granite gate posts and lions) and a rambling garden with grotto, lake, pasture and woodland. Bedrooms are traditional, full of books, antiques and pots of flowers; bathrooms are spic and span, one small and functional, two large. Come to experience a 'time warp' and charming Kate's good breakfasts. Close to Falmouth University, too.

"Magical - lovely friendly welcome and a privilege to have insight into an unusual scenario 21st century where the same family have been able to keep a home of this size for over 200 years. Would love to go back."

"I took my mother to Bosvathick a couple of years ago and we had the most delightful time. Kate is a gem and it was such a treat to stay in an authentically old house with a long and interesting family history. If a prissy boutique hotel is your idea of nirvana then this might not be your ideal but if you want an insight into a real English country home you will love it."
