You stay in the private wing of the farmhouse with views over farmland, river or courtyard. There’s a grass landing strip so it's possible to arrive by plane (by prior arrangement of course); horses can be stabled too.
Breakfast choices change often – a convivial affair by the wood-burner in the big sitting room: eggs from the hens in the orchard, perhaps mushrooms on toast with chives, avocado on sourdough with chilli and lime or blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, homemade preserves and freshly-squeezed orange juice.
Have supper at Rachel and Bill’s favourite inn The Beckford Arms in Fonthill Gifford (a 20-minute drive); Rachel gives you a helpful list of other nearby eateries, interesting shops and places to visit too.
