A very comfortable, pretty cottage, safe for dogs and young children, surrounded by garden and mature woodland on the Badminton Estate

A smart gravelled drive to this Victorian stone cottage with latticed windows and plenty of space – you'll feel nicely private as you're not overlooked except by trees, and very much at home. Walk straight (mind your head on the low doorway) into the square kitchen, well equipped, and with a round table in the bay window for convivial meals with countryside views.

Three bedrooms (one double downstairs with an en suite shower, and a double and a twin upstairs sharing a bathroom) have very pretty fabrics, plump feather and down duvets and pillows, tranquil views and antique furniture – each have plenty of storage and hanging space. Lovely to take tea in bed listening to the abundant birdlife, planning your next outing.

On chilly days you can hunker down by the wood-burner in the attractive sitting room with a high ceiling and artwork on the walls. In summer you'll be out on the terrace, having a barbecue, enjoying the peace and quiet.
