The Coach House - Self-catering in Northumberland
Greystead Rectory
Tarset, Hexham, NE48 1LE, Northumberland
England,
Royaume-Uni
The stone built Georgian property was converted in 2004 and retains the original beams and fireplaces. Views from large windows are to pretty and unspoiled Northumbrian countryside, criss-crossed by miles of dry-stone walls and dotted with many sheep. From the dining room you have your own door to the walled garden for al fresco meals, a barbecue or to play games. Through the owner's woodland is the North Tyne for peaceful picnics and salmon fishing.
The kitchen has granite-topped surfaces, a scrubbed wood table and plenty of space for everyone to join in – you're left a welcome hamper of homemade lemon drizzle cake and a bottle of wine. Upstairs bedrooms are simple and uncluttered with antique furniture and nice views.
As well as your own private garden, the Sunken Lawn and Star-Gazing Platform in the Old Rectory garden are also available to guests (with shared access). You're in the International Dark Sky Park so clear nights will reveal a spectacular display.
